So let’s get to know Nadir:

1. So in less than 50 words describe yourself?

I am a 26 year old married designer living in Ankara/Turkey. The absolute musts in my life are my wife, paper, pen, and my computer. If these were not in my life, I wouldn’t have been telling you these things today. Taking photographs, reading personal development books and watching psychology- thriller movies may be counted as my favorite hobbies.

2. What inspired you to become a designer?

I chose the design sector because I can’t live without create something new and unique.

3. Where do you find creative inspiration?

A classic question. Everything! Nature, environment, people, friends, internet, books, movies… In short, EVERYTHING in my life.

4. If you were not a designer, what would you be doing?

As I said in my earlier interviews, I’d be a photographer. I can’t dream myself doing something that doesn’t require creativity.

5. If there is one thing in the world you couldn’t live without, what would it be?

My wife. ( I love you baby!)

6. Tell us about your design business, what makes you different than the rest?

I have my own style. My colors, lines, uniqueness. These make me different than the rest.

8. So tell us about your charity, what they do, who they help?

TOCEV.  Their purpose of establishment : To contribute to raise a cultivated, well-educated, generation for the future of Turkey, to give material and moral support to children who want to be educated during all their school life, but who are deprived of education due to the economic insufficiency of their family and who are obliged to work to earn their living, to support them to be harmonic and creative people in our social life.

9. Why is this charity important to you?

Because they are helping to the future of my country, our future is our children.

10. And last question, if you could help the world in one way in your lifetime, what would you do?

Really don’t know exactly but something which makes the people happy.

It’s the time for introductions of the wonderful people that make Bigcolors possible.  Firstly let’s meet the charming, intelligent and adventurous Jackie. Jackie Lam has been a management consultant for most of her life with successful tenure’s at multi-national consulting firms. She decided to explore a new endeavour and started a not-for-profit organisation that supports charities across the globe.

We sat down with Jackie and asked her some questions about Bigcolors:

Tell us about Bigcolors? What is it?

Bigcolors is the marriage of designers and charity. Web designers work their magic then they post their designs on Bigcolors. Anyone can buy these designs but we just have one criteria – that the profit goes to support the charity of the designer’s choice.

What was the driving force behind Bigcolors? What inspired you to create it?

In my former life, I led a Corporate Social Responsibility project and I discovered that there are a lot of people who donate to charity. But I wanted to do more, ie, not just give but really see “charity in action”.

I’ve also always been fascinated with great web designs especially those that are cutting edge so I thought, why not merge the two? So I created Bigcolors – a platform where designers can showcase their inventions and simultaneously benefit those in need.

What charities do you personally support?

One of the main ones I support is Plug. They work in underdeveloped nations to equip local communities for economic and spiritual well being. They have “charity in action” summed up in a fantastic slogan – “See the need, fill the gap”.

Where do you find creative inspiration?

In big cities with lots of colors   ie, NYC and Tokyo

If you were not a charity organiser, what would you be doing?

Well, I don’t really see myself as a charity organiser, but rather an entrepreneur with a bit of a heart. What would I be doing? Exactly the same thing, I’m one of those blessed people who are not bound by their job.

If there is one thing in the world you couldn’t live without, what would it be?

Love. Love is like water – you can’t live without it.

Why is charity important to you?

The recipients of charity are important to me. These days you hear a lot about social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility.  I think all of these are fantastic as long as the recipients aren’t forgotten. I’m doing my bit: charity in action.

And last question, if you could help the world in one way in your lifetime, what would you do?

If I had superhero powers, I would change it all, in particular, eradicating the illegal trafficking of women.

   Hi Everyone, Thanks a lot Bigcolors for having me, My Name is Kishore Beniwal. I’m 28 years old Designer and Entrepreneur from New Delhi, India. I am running a design and development Studio where I do mostly design and project management stuff.
2. What inspired you to become a designer?
   That’s a good one, I always want be a business-man or a creative person in my life, and by the grace of God I am enjoying both. As with most of other designers, I was never into the designing since childhood and being a commerce student it was difficult for me to choose a career in between design & accountancy. But by nature, I always wanted to do something unique every day, I have always love to do creative work with colour, and decided to put the colours of nature into reality and hence became a designer .
3. Where do you find creative inspiration?
   There is always something special about everything in life, and I take inspiration from almost everything which I can see, touch, smell or feel.
4. If you were not a designer, what would you be doing?
   Definitely a Chef or a restaurant owner, and yes I haven’t dropped that idea
5. If there is one thing in the world you couldn’t live without, what would it be?
   There are many but if it’s only about one thing than i would say “my designing company”.
6. Tell us about your design business, what makes you different than the rest?
   First and the foremost, we are not different from the rest of the good design companies available; we just follow the basic mantra that is “quality with customer satisfaction” and we love what we do.

8. So tell us, about your charity what they do, who they help?
   Prayas – From darkness to light. Prayas, a national level non-governmental organization engaged in the rehabilitation of deprived and marginalized children for the past eighteen years, through its work in the field of education, juvenile justice, child labour, urban poverty.
9. Why is this charity important to you?
   I really don’t know why charity is important but you always feel an inner satisfaction when you make someone happy who needs the most.
